Lyfthrasyr: The Engineered Flesh
06/02/14 || Cobal
The first thing that came to my mind when listening to this was Dark Tranquility’s electronic track “Archetype”, except such comparison doesn’t quite make justice to “The Engineered Flesh”. Indeed, Lyfthrasyr deliver a great deal of electronic sounds, but their songs are way more death metal-oriented than my first reference. You’ve got to give them credit for keeping that crushing vibe even when adding some symphonic arrangements here and there. And it’s not like combining these three elements is an easy trick, you see. The result is 8 well written and unusual songs, many of which do include some big momentums when it’s required. If anything, the biggest flaw here is how similar one song is to the next one, but that seems to see a why-bother issue in metal these days. Did I mention I am not a big fan of electronic music?

After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
